Season 9 has been billed as the “finale season for Rick Grimes“. AMC even started counting down the episodes for Rick’s final appearance. Jon and I have seen all the episodes of Season 9 of TWD up to the mid-season finale and we will be talking about Rick’s final rodeo and other story lines in this week’s podcast.
We tackle questions like:
Do you like how the Sanctuary vs Oceanside story was tied up?
What are our thoughts on Rick’s ‘final’ episode?
How do you fell about the time skip and the introduction of Magna and her group?
We also opine on the newest adversary, The Whisperers – who are they? WHAT ARE THEY? How sane are you if you think wearing human flesh is okay? Finally, we here Jon’s thoughts on Negan’s open door.
Finally, we wrap up the podcast by reviewing my Spoiler predictions based on the comic’s story and seeing just how accurate they were or were not. This is a spoiler free podcast (unless you have not watched all the episodes up to the Season 9 finale. If this is true, go watch them and then come back).
I apologize in advance for this week’s recording. Jon and I both have head colds and we feel like we are the walking dead right now. We did not want to wait a week to talk about this so please bare with us.
Jon and I have watched the premiere of Season 9 of the Walking Dead and we go over the show. There have been many changes since the end of season 8: Negan is no longer in control of the Saviors. Rick and the Survivors have taken control of Sanctuary and it, as well as the other communities, have started to produce their own crops and thrive. This is just a start of the new society that Rick wants to make by there are many hurdles that they will still have to overcome.
We go over some plot points and speculate on the future of this season.
And we wrap the podcast up with our Complete Season Spoiler Review for Season 9 up until the mid-season finale. We do this by giving plot points from the comic and take guesses on if it will be used in the show. We have been doing this for a few years now and the predictions have been pretty accurate so far.
We’ll be back to talk about the rest of the season at the end of the mid-season finale.
The Walking Dead Season 8 just ended last Sunday – it was All Out War! Negan Vs Rick in a Battle Royal for the title of Ass Kicker of the East Coast!
The battle that has been brewing since the beginning of season 7 finally reach it’s denouement and we have a victor! Jon and I talk about the events of the 2nd half of Season 8 and we review the predictions that I made in our previous TWD podcast 145. Click on the link if you want to listen to it.
I liked how Season 8 resolved itself and look forward to Season 9.
Another February ends and another season of Walking Dead’s mid-season premiere show airs. Followed by another awesome Comics Misremembered Podcast talking about the show and spoiling the rest of the season. It goes without saying:
**MAJOR SPOILERS IN THIS PODCAST REGARDING THE SHOW AND THE FUTURE OF SEASON 8**
Rick looks pissed in this poster and if you watched the episode, you know why. I will not discuss the object of Rick’s misery in this post but we do discuss it in the podcast.
Morgan also looks to be backsliding to his former killing machine modem. Jon and I chat about that and where we think it will lead.
We also speculate of the future of the Walking Dead TV show after Season 8.
Finally, I do my favorite section – Season Spoiling Predictions based on prediction of the comic series. I have read the comic, Jon does not. I make calculated guesses on what will happen to the characters based on the comic storyline. It has been pretty accurate in the past, what will happen this season!?
Season 8 of the Walking Dead just had it’s Mid-Season Finale last week and it ended on one helluvah cliff hanger!
I won’t spoil it here on the post but we talk about it in the CM Podcast – along with everything else that has happened in Season 8 so far…
It is still All Out War between Neagan and Rick. Both sides have taken casualties but who will win? We shall see. Before you start listening to the podcast, know this…
THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE PODCAST
We warn you up front to stop listening if you have not watched everything up to and including the mid-season finale. Fair warning.
Okay – I review the comic spoilers I gave at the start of Season 8 and I compare them to what the show used (it is still pretty close to the comic).
Then we talk about Carl.
We talk about how the show ended and what does that mean for the rest of season 8 – we have several theories on what will happen next. We also focus on other characters like Eugene and Dwight and what will be their futures.
Fun podcast and we hope you enjoy. Sorry for my coughing breaks – damn winter cold!
It’s WAR! Rick and Neagan are finally going to war with each other. Who will win? What will happen to the loser? How many casualties will there be? Will Carl ever find another giant can of chocolate pudding?
These are the questions that everyone will be asking as we go through Season 8 of The Walking Dead. The season premier was last week so Jon and I go over the episode.
After we finish talking about the premiere, we start our patented All Season Spoilers part of the podcast. As you know, I have been reading The Walking Dead comic so I will review parts of the comic story that I think we will see in the show and I make predictions on the outcome of events to unfold up to the Mid-season episode. If you listen to the entirety of the podcast, you will hear speculation on the death of characters – All Spoilers – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Then Jon wraps up the podcast with a question to the listeners about Blade Runner 2049.
“The first casualty of war is innocence. The second is a giant animated tiger. Stop crying, Rick.” – SL Buckly
The Walking Dead Season 7 ended last Sunday so Jon and I will discuss the 2nd half of Season 7. We talk about Janis and the Scavengers (which is a great name for a band), Sasha’s sacrifice, Eugene’s betrayal, Ezekiel’s choice, Rick’s stand and more!
We also review the predictions I made based on the comic at the end of Season 7’s mid season episode and how much of it came true.
As always, there will be major spoilers in this podcast so if you have not watched all of Season 7 and want to be surprised, don’t listen now. Come back later.
This is not a mistake. Not a hoax. Not an imaginary story. We are talking about The Walking Dead Season 7 again this week.
You see, Jon could not join me last week to talk about the premier episode and he had several opinions he wanted to share on the show, Negan, the victim(s) and several other things that happened. I told him I would give him a chance this week to go over it.
As always we will be talking spoilers in this podcast.
Jon goes over how the Premier episode went and who he believed would be killed off. He talks about Negan and Rick’s conversation and what he believes Rick will do through Season 7.
We both have seen episode 2 and we talk about The Kingdom and it’s leader, King Ezekiel
It’s good to be the King!
Everyone that listens to the podcast on a regular knows that I am not a fan of Ezekiel nor the Kingdom. Jon does not read the comic, so I find out his thoughts on the show’s version of this character.
I promise – We will not talk about The Walking Dead show again until the mid-season break. Next week, we will talk about Doctor Strange – the movie and the comics.
Finally, it’s here! The start of The Walking Dead Season 7 and we can finally see who Negan clubbed to death! Yeah!
“Negan looks like Fonzie with a cravat but it’s the zombie apocalypse so fashion sense is right out the window.”
Before we get into who got a bat to their head, I want to warn you up front; this podcast is full of episode 1 spoilersso if you have not watched the episode and want to keep it a surprise, don’t listen to it now. Come back once you watch the show.
Now we have that out of the way, let me run down the podcast. I am recording by myself this week because Jon had to be called away on a Family Emergency at short notice. Don’t worry. He is all right and the situation has righted itself so he will be back with us next week.
I start the podcast by talking about cliffhangers and how I enjoy them and that taking time away from a show to process it can be a good and creative thing.
I move into talking about the actual show and how it plays out. How the show reveals the actual execution of person(s) on the show and how the remaining members of Rick’s team react.
I talk about the symbolism that was used in the show and where I believe the writes got their inspiration (besides the comic).
The podcast finishes on where Carol and Morgan are and what we can expect from The Kingdom.
“This shot reminds me of the movie The Shining. I hope that Carol and Morgan will be okay.”
I then focus on the actual violence of the killings and how they are not as gory as people on the internet portray it. I give an example of the movie Scanners and its infamous head explosion scene. I promise to post it here and I am a man of my word:
Hope you enjoy my solo effort and hope to see you back here next week.
