It finally happened. The Walking Dead Season 10 episode 16 finally aired!! We finally have the finale of the season so now we can talk about it! There was plenty going on in that final hour. We had…
MAGGIE and MASKED MEN and SOLDIERS! OH MY!
Not only did we have all these 3 revelations but we also had the conclusion to the Whisperer War. We will definitely not be seeing the Whisperers in future seasons.
Jon and I talk about the finale episode and go into details about how it played out and what this might mean for Season 11. We then conclude the podcast with a recap of the “Spoil The Season” where I compare the spoilers I gave at the start of the Mid-Season Premier based on the comic compares to the end of the actual season.
Last week, The Walking Dead aired episode 15 (the penultimate episode) of Season 10 and episode 16 will not air until Summer. Well, that is too long for us to wait to recap the season. There is a reason why we call part of the podcast “misremembered” – we don’t have the best memories. We knew we could not wait until Summer so we are going over what we saw so far in Season 10’s 2nd half.
We saw that Negan became a Whisperer and we met a new person called Princess.
Now does Negan remain a Whisperer? And can Princess be trusted? Well, these are question we will answer in the podcast. So, before we go any further…
***SPOILER WARNING ALERT***
We do go over all the details about Season 10 mid-season material so if you have not watched it yet, then don’t listen now.
If you have watched The Walking Dead up to Season 10 Episode 15 then you are all set. We are not spoiling anything. We are just recapping with you.
The other thing we do on the podcast is to review the Spoil The Season predictions we made in CM Podcast 249 (link here) and see how right (or wrong) we were based on the comic.
Here are some comic covers from material we did in Spoil The Season. What do they mean? We talk a little about the future storylines in the podcast.
Finally, if parts of the podcast sound like they were recorded on the back of a pick-up truck that has bad shocks while driving over a cobblestone road, that would be the fault of our Comics Misremembered Dog, Daisy. She was asleep at the start of the podcast but woke up towards the end and wanted to play by bumping into the mic stands. Sorry about that.
The Walking Dead is back again. It’s the middle of February and its the middle of Season 10. We get to see what happens to Carol and the gang. Remember, they were trapped in the cave after Carol stupidly ran in after Alpha and the gang tried to stop her.
On the podcast, we review the Mid-Season Premier episode. We discuss if it was in Carol’s character to wildly chase after Alpha. We then talk about what happens to everyone once they are trapped in the cave and how they worked out a solution to try and leave the cave.
We catch up with the Whisperers and see how Negan is doing. Is Negan trying to prove his worth to Michonne and Judith or did he show his spots and turn traitor and ally himself to Alpha.
*** SPOIL THE SEASON***
Lastly, we do what we do every premier episode on AMC’s The Walking Dead – We spoil the season (#SpoilTheSeason) by revealing what happened in the comic and see if the events that transpire in the comic align with the events in the show. We have been pretty accurate so far.
It’s the Walking Dead Season 10 Mid-Season Finale, where Jim and Jon review what they saw so far in the season and reveal if the show was spoiled with Jim’s patented Season Spoilers!
In this discussion we focus on the characters of Negan and Lydia. Both are outcasts living in a community that fears and hates them. They are draw together as kindred spirits but have separate destinies.
Negan gets put back in jail for having saved Lydia (but accidentally killed someone). He is sprung from the slammer by hero worshiper, Brandon. Brandon believes in the tall tales that his father used to tell him about Negan and the saviors. Negan wants to past to remain in the past but sometimes that past has a habit of catching up with you.
We discuss Negan’s character arc so far in Season 10 and guess at how he will handle his new alliance with the Whisperers.
Lydia finds out that Carol was only keeping her around to be bait to get Alpha to slip up so Carol can take her down. Lydia runs away and now Carol and her team must try to find her for fear of what reprisals Alpha will bring down if Lydia shows up in the Whisperers camp.
We go over the different scenarios of what will happen if Lydia is found by Alpha or Carol first.
We discuss Dante, Siddiq and Father Gabriel and their fates at the mid-season final. Does it fit with each character at how their roles played out?
Finally, I review the comic book spoilers and how accurate I was to the show.
It is October, time for playoff baseball, Halloween decorations to be in stores and another season of The Walking Dead on AMC.
The Season 10 premier was on October 6th and normally, we would do a review podcast on the premier episode a week later but since the Joker movie came out the same time, we decided to wait a week and review 2 episodes!
In episode 1, the show stars with several members of the Alexandria coalition on the beach of Oceanside using shields and spears to fight walkers. Could they be training for something else…
There was also a satellite that came crashing down into the woods on the Whisperers side of the border. The Coalition decided that it was more important to break the truce and cross the boarder to put out the fire than maintain detente. Will Eugene be able to use that satellite for anything? Jon has some theories.
In episode 2, we learn the origin of Alpha and Beta. It is the beginnings of the Whisperers and how they form their dogma. Jon goes over his theory of the difference of having a name, no name and a Greco-Roman name in the Whisperers culture.
We end the podcast on a feature that has become very popular on the CM Podcast – Jim Spoils the Season segment.
That’s right, I will spoil the rest of the season for you – well just up to the mid-season finale. How do I do this? The show follows the story line from the comic. The comic is about 4 years ahead of the show. I have read the comic but Jon has not. I make some guesses based on the comic and we will review how accurate I was at the mid-season finale.
Here is a page from the comic that I reference in the podcast…
Oh, that Negan. He should write inspirational posters that have kittens on them. I also explain who the young boy is on this page. Will he make an appearance on the show? Maybe…
Thanks for listening and we will see you in seven.
Mid Season 9 of the Walking Dead was one of the more impactful seasons for Jon and myself. We are introduced to a new danger in the world named The Whisperers who are lead by the demented Alpha. We learn why Michonne is wary of strangers and how she go her scar. We learn about Lydia, the daughter of Alpha and find out if she will be friend or foe to the new alliance of Alexandria, Hilltop and The Kingdom. And the final question is answered: Can we start to trust Negan?
I ask Jon some question about the show like: What does he think about Alpha, Beta and The Whisperers? Jon goes into an eloquent discussion about the new characters and how he feels they came to exist and how dangerous they can be to everyone.
We talk about some other plot points that happened through the season and the shocking event that happened in the penultimate episode. Jon and I talk about who was lost and how impactful it will be in the show and it’s characters.
We then end the podcast with a review of spoilers that I gave in Podcast 195 and how accurate the comic is compared to the show. It is still a very accurate guide on the events that unfolded.
On Sunday 2/10/19 – AMC had the Season 9 Mid-Season Premier of The Walking Dead. There were several question that were left at the end of the Mid-Season Finale: Is Jesus really dead? Negan‘s cell door is open! Will he take revenge on Michonne and the others at Alexandria? Who are the Whisperers and what do they want? Will Henry ever get out of jail?
We learned the answer to some of these question at the end of the premiere but there are even more questions that will come as the season progresses.
Since I follow the comic, I have a good guess on what will happen with the rest of the season (and will be spoiling it at the end of the podcast). Jon does not read the comic, only watches the show so I ask him questions and see if he can guess at what will happen. Jon talks on how fans will react to Jesus’ death. What will happed with Negan and has he truly changed his ways? Are the Whisperers a major threat and if so, are they worst than Negan and the Saviors? How does he like the new recruits: Magna, Kumiko and Luke?
***MAJOR SPOILERS IN THE PODCAST!!***
After our discussion on the premiere, I will be spoiling the rest of Season 9 based on events that unfold in the comic. Do not listen if you do not want to know the fates of some major characters. Here are a couple of covers from the comic…
Some of these images have already happened – like Negan escaping. But what about the other 2 covers? What does it mean? If you are curious then listen the the whole podcast.
Season 9 has been billed as the “finale season for Rick Grimes“. AMC even started counting down the episodes for Rick’s final appearance. Jon and I have seen all the episodes of Season 9 of TWD up to the mid-season finale and we will be talking about Rick’s final rodeo and other story lines in this week’s podcast.
We tackle questions like:
Do you like how the Sanctuary vs Oceanside story was tied up?
What are our thoughts on Rick’s ‘final’ episode?
How do you fell about the time skip and the introduction of Magna and her group?
We also opine on the newest adversary, The Whisperers – who are they? WHAT ARE THEY? How sane are you if you think wearing human flesh is okay? Finally, we here Jon’s thoughts on Negan’s open door.
Finally, we wrap up the podcast by reviewing my Spoiler predictions based on the comic’s story and seeing just how accurate they were or were not. This is a spoiler free podcast (unless you have not watched all the episodes up to the Season 9 finale. If this is true, go watch them and then come back).
I apologize in advance for this week’s recording. Jon and I both have head colds and we feel like we are the walking dead right now. We did not want to wait a week to talk about this so please bare with us.
Jon and I have watched the premiere of Season 9 of the Walking Dead and we go over the show. There have been many changes since the end of season 8: Negan is no longer in control of the Saviors. Rick and the Survivors have taken control of Sanctuary and it, as well as the other communities, have started to produce their own crops and thrive. This is just a start of the new society that Rick wants to make by there are many hurdles that they will still have to overcome.
We go over some plot points and speculate on the future of this season.
And we wrap the podcast up with our Complete Season Spoiler Review for Season 9 up until the mid-season finale. We do this by giving plot points from the comic and take guesses on if it will be used in the show. We have been doing this for a few years now and the predictions have been pretty accurate so far.
We’ll be back to talk about the rest of the season at the end of the mid-season finale.
The Walking Dead Season 8 just ended last Sunday – it was All Out War! Negan Vs Rick in a Battle Royal for the title of Ass Kicker of the East Coast!
The battle that has been brewing since the beginning of season 7 finally reach it’s denouement and we have a victor! Jon and I talk about the events of the 2nd half of Season 8 and we review the predictions that I made in our previous TWD podcast 145. Click on the link if you want to listen to it.
I liked how Season 8 resolved itself and look forward to Season 9.
Another February ends and another season of Walking Dead’s mid-season premiere show airs. Followed by another awesome Comics Misremembered Podcast talking about the show and spoiling the rest of the season. It goes without saying:
**MAJOR SPOILERS IN THIS PODCAST REGARDING THE SHOW AND THE FUTURE OF SEASON 8**
Rick looks pissed in this poster and if you watched the episode, you know why. I will not discuss the object of Rick’s misery in this post but we do discuss it in the podcast.
Morgan also looks to be backsliding to his former killing machine modem. Jon and I chat about that and where we think it will lead.
We also speculate of the future of the Walking Dead TV show after Season 8.
Finally, I do my favorite section – Season Spoiling Predictions based on prediction of the comic series. I have read the comic, Jon does not. I make calculated guesses on what will happen to the characters based on the comic storyline. It has been pretty accurate in the past, what will happen this season!?
It’s WAR! Rick and Neagan are finally going to war with each other. Who will win? What will happen to the loser? How many casualties will there be? Will Carl ever find another giant can of chocolate pudding?
These are the questions that everyone will be asking as we go through Season 8 of The Walking Dead. The season premier was last week so Jon and I go over the episode.
After we finish talking about the premiere, we start our patented All Season Spoilers part of the podcast. As you know, I have been reading The Walking Dead comic so I will review parts of the comic story that I think we will see in the show and I make predictions on the outcome of events to unfold up to the Mid-season episode. If you listen to the entirety of the podcast, you will hear speculation on the death of characters – All Spoilers – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Then Jon wraps up the podcast with a question to the listeners about Blade Runner 2049.
“The first casualty of war is innocence. The second is a giant animated tiger. Stop crying, Rick.” – SL Buckly
The Walking Dead Season 7 ended last Sunday so Jon and I will discuss the 2nd half of Season 7. We talk about Janis and the Scavengers (which is a great name for a band), Sasha’s sacrifice, Eugene’s betrayal, Ezekiel’s choice, Rick’s stand and more!
We also review the predictions I made based on the comic at the end of Season 7’s mid season episode and how much of it came true.
As always, there will be major spoilers in this podcast so if you have not watched all of Season 7 and want to be surprised, don’t listen now. Come back later.
AMC’s TheWalking Dead Season 7 TV show has reached its mid-season finale last week so Jon and I are going to do a review on the story so far and what we think about the series this year.
We’ve already done 2 podcasts on the Season 7 Premier and the 2nd episode that introduces Ezekiel so we will not be discussing those points in this podcast.
We do talk about the rest of the season so this is how the podcast goes:
Section 1: Jon does not read the comic, I do. I ask Jon how does he feel about this season so far? Is it better or worst than previous seasons? Does he like the introduction of Negan? And a lot more questions. I also give my opinions on the show. We discuss the mystery figure at the end of the last episode and give our theories on who it will be.
Section 2: I did a review in CM Podcast 46 about how season 7 will play out based on the story line of the comic series. I read the notes from that podcast and we compare it against what the show did. We compare and contrast any similarities and/or differences. Just how close is the comic to the TV show this year.
Section 3: Spoiler Territory – At this point, I warn you that I will be going over near future story lines and making guesses on how the rest of Season 7 will play out and how it will end. Listen at your own risk. I give plenty of warning to turn off.
This is not a mistake. Not a hoax. Not an imaginary story. We are talking about The Walking Dead Season 7 again this week.
You see, Jon could not join me last week to talk about the premier episode and he had several opinions he wanted to share on the show, Negan, the victim(s) and several other things that happened. I told him I would give him a chance this week to go over it.
As always we will be talking spoilers in this podcast.
Jon goes over how the Premier episode went and who he believed would be killed off. He talks about Negan and Rick’s conversation and what he believes Rick will do through Season 7.
We both have seen episode 2 and we talk about The Kingdom and it’s leader, King Ezekiel
It’s good to be the King!
Everyone that listens to the podcast on a regular knows that I am not a fan of Ezekiel nor the Kingdom. Jon does not read the comic, so I find out his thoughts on the show’s version of this character.
I promise – We will not talk about The Walking Dead show again until the mid-season break. Next week, we will talk about Doctor Strange – the movie and the comics.
