The Verve sang “It’s a bitter sweet symphony that is life.” No truer words were ever said when he heard of the shocking news this week.
The Allston Comic Shop that we have been visiting for the past 30 years is shutting it’s doors at the end of September 2015. This was a major blow to Jon and myself as I am sure it is to many of the patrons and employees of the shop.
This week, Jon and I go over the reasons we think why a comics shop in the middle of a city that 50 % of it’s residents are in the age range of 18 – 25 years old can close. We review how the digital revolution is killing local business and speculate on how it will affect other industries.
This podcast is a lot of economy 101 but we guarantee it is very entertaining. We take this week to relive the good times we had hanging at the Allston Comic shop.
We go back to comics next week.
